This Program...
Is the longest lasting program in YICA. It began in 2015, when the founders began holding meetings with the fellow students at their school. They realized that there are few other groups working with primary and high schools students in leadership empowerment, mentorship and character development in Uganda. Seeing the gap, our founders made a plan to reach the student leaders. This program was created to create a space for students to hear the word of God, gain leadership skills, and discuss with one another.

The main focus of this program is to promote value-based leadership among primary and high school student leaders to positively impact the communities they live in and beyond. SLMD aims at investing in primary and high school student leaders in Uganda who show great leadership potential. We focus on equipping them through a curriculum-based empowerment and character development leadership training.

We believe that student leaders of today have the potential to be impactful leaders in their future platforms. Therefore, we need to support them by equipping their leadership skills to become more mature.

This program has been held throughout Central and Eastern Uganda at a variety of schools. Currently, we are focused in Eastern Uganda.
